The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show

Floral Marquee Gold Award Winner Hampton Court Flower Show 2008 - (and 2007)

Hoyland Plant Centre

We are a small family run business with our nursery situated at the foot of the Pennines in South Yorkshire. For the past 25 years we have supplied young plants i.e. Shrubs, perennials, conifers and grasses to the wholesale trade and are well known throughout the country.

We have had Agapanthus at our nursery for countless years but 9 years ago my interest was given a kick start when I was given a giant blue and a giant white agapanthus that was in full flower as a present and immediately I became extremely fascinated by them.

Since then most of our nursery has been devoted to the cultivation and propagation of Agapanthus. We have over 340 cultivars in our collection which we believe to be the most comprehensive in the UK. We have developed 11 new distinct cultivars which at the moment are under going trials.

We have displayed Agapanthus and Tulbaghia for several years now, in floral marquees at most of the northern shows. This year plants from the collection have really surprised us and we have been awarded Two large Gold medals and Four Gold Medals so far.

It is from customer pressure from the many horticultural shows we attend and from requests at talks I give to numerous Women’s institute and gardening club meetings, that we have put together a mail order list and this online shopping facility.

We only sell Agapanthus and Tulbaghia direct to the public at present, but more products to follow soon.

If you have any questions relating to Agapanthus, please contact me, as I am always happy to help.

If you would prefer to obtain our catalogue and send a cheque with an order form you can download and print our Adobe Acrobat version from here
